MIDA 2025: Moroccan Design in the Spotlight

MIDA 2025: Moroccan Design in the Spotlight

Organized by Groupe Archimedia, under the patronage of the Ministry of National Territory Planning, Urban Planning, Housing, and City Policy, the Moroccan Interior Design Awards (MIDA) aim to establish themselves as a major benchmark for interior design in Morocco; celebrating the projects and talents that are redefining the art of living.

Through its various categories, the competition honors creative approaches distinguished by their quality of execution, functional relevance, and conceptual strength.

73 nominated projects were announced during the revelation evening held on October 16 in the garden of the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts of Casablanca; a symbolic venue where Moroccan creativity meets innovation and heritage. Architects, designers, and industry professionals gathered to celebrate the energy and diversity of a scene in full bloom. The nominated projects embody the vitality and modernity of contemporary Moroccan design: a generation of architects and designers who pay close attention to materials, craftsmanship, and the challenges of their time—from comfort to sustainability, from functionality to emotion.

The 2025 selection was evaluated by a jury chaired by Lotfi Sidirahal (Atelier Pod), international architect and designer, and composed of Sacha Lakic (Guest of Honor and Designer), Zineb Achraf (Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Maisons du Maroc), Zahia Benabdeljalil (Director, Art’Com and Com’Sup schools), Yasmine Bennani (Interior Architect and Curator), Reda Bouamrani (Interior Architect and Designer), Younes Duret (Designer), Fouad Lahlou (Architect), and Sophia Sebti (Architect).

TOWARD AN IDENTITY-DRIVEN INTERIOR DESIGN

The MIDA Awards celebrate a new generation of Moroccan designers whose creativity and rigor are transforming the living environment across the country. This first edition reflects a clear ambition: to position Moroccan interior design within an international dialogue  : contemporary, sustainable, and deeply rooted in identity.

The awards ceremony will take place in December, bringing together design professionals, partners, institutions, and media representatives. Each category will honor one laureate; showcasing the diversity and excellence of Moroccan interior design and enhancing its visibility both to the general public and to project owners. The winners will receive an exclusive trophy, designed by architect and designer Selma Khamlichi, a rising figure of Morocco’s creative scene.

In addition, voting for the “Public Choice Award” will open on October 23 at www.midaawards.ma, inviting everyone to support their favorite project among the MIDA 2025 nominees.
